Participation in Improve My Game Jam 42

Finally, audio for Hex Harmony!

For the past few days, I’ve been entirely focused on one goal that really mattered to me: finally adding sound to Hex Harmony. It was one of the biggest missing pieces in the demo released for the Improve My Game Jam 42… and now it’s done!

I’ve added 8 music tracks to give each world more personality, along with ambient sounds and simple effects to highlight player actions. More sounds will be added little by little, but the game is already starting to come to life in a way that motivates me a lot.

To manage everything properly, I connected FMOD to my Unity project… and what an adventure. There are so many technical parameters to master when building a reliable AudioManager. But the result is worth it: the music now transitions smoothly between levels, with no cuts. I’m really happy with the final outcome.

To all participants of the jam, I hope you’ll enjoy this improved version. Thank you for your playtests, your feedback, and your support.

Have fun, everyone!
