Bionicle: Matoran of Mata Nui

Mata Nui is lost island in the ocean. This tropical paradise is home of the Matoran, small and creative robots. The Matoran are divided into six tribes living in harmony with their environment. A dreamy Matoran has decided to leave his village to discover the other tribes and the mysteries of  Mata Nui.

Takua, the chronicler

Takua is a Matoran from the volcano tribe. He had always been captivated by the tales of his tribe's warrior exploits. One evening, the Matoran gathered around the fire to listen to these stories. Fascinated, a daring idea appeared in Takua's mind. He decided to make on a complete tour of Mata Nui Island, a quest that had never been attempted by anyone before.

Matoro, the pathfinder

Matoro is a Matoran from the mountain tribe, living in the snowy peaks of Mata Nui. Calm and reserved, Matoro prefers the solitude of ice crystals over the company of other Matoran. His role is essential. He marks dangerous paths with flags to ensure the safety of those who venture far from the tranquility of his village.

Macku, the research diver

Macku is a Matoran from the tribe of lakes. The residents of the lakes are passionate about studying their ecosystem. Macku stands out for her friendliness and enthusiasm. She is an exceptional swimmer, which allows her to explore every corner of the lakes. She loves observing the coral reef that borders the sea near the village. But, Macku is an independent mind often at odds with the strict rules of her tribe.

Hewkii the stadium smasher

Hewkii is a Matoran from the desert tribe. Taller than most Matoran, he is known for his physical abilities and his sportsmanship. Despite this, he felt out of step with his tribe. In order to survive, the desert inhabitants built imposing stone structures. Hewkii was ashamed of his buildings. Every time they collapsed, he felt useless to his village. Hewkii loves challenges and always looks for opportunities to show his tribe's strength and resilience. 

Onepu the mine manager

Onepu is a Matoran from the mines tribe. Bursting with energy, Onepu is in charge of mining operations. Passionate about his work, he loves digging new tunnels, finding rare ores, and coordinating the actions of the miners. He is a very skilled machine driver. Although Onepu lacks modesty, his intelligence and his optimism are highly appreciated by his tribe.

Kongu, the jungle keeper

Kongu is a Matoran from the jungle tribe. He is a skilled warrior able to move silently through dense vegetation. Kongu takes his role as the guardian of the jungle very seriously. He regularly patrols to ensure harmony. His peers appreciate his rigor and kindness, but they try to point out his lack of open-mindedness.

Jaller, the captain of the guard

Jaller is a Matoran from the Volcano tribe. He is a pragmatic warrior who leads his village's guard with discipline and efficiency. Despite the tough training, Jaller takes great pride in his role. Cautious in nature, he is often annoyed by the impulsive behavior of other villagers, particularly that of his best friend, Takua.
